The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the game, Galatasaray's Acar Sait nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Resul Bedih made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Ahmet Nedim Birsen hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when lazebura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdülhak Şimşektürk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, Resul Bedih successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Yiğit Can Asutay hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Hüsnü Özonder stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abdülhak Şimşektürk's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. In the 27th minute, Acar Sait left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Galatasaray fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abdülhak Şimşektürk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Haşim Bucak hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. 60 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's goalkeeper Hüsnü Özonder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abdülhak Şimşektürk. The corner ended in Erkan Kurtaran almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Galatasaray's Hüsnü Özonder did a great save. Abdülhak Şimşektürk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Abdülhak Şimşektürk managed to get in a good position for a shot. lazebura's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdülhak Şimşektürk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hüsnü Özonder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Resul Bedih didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Poyraz Işınbay went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The supporters of Galatasaray booed when lazebura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erkan Kurtaran didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Acar Sait notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of lazebura's Resul Bedih. After 84 minutes of play Galatasaray's Haşim Bucak was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Haşim Bucak hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. The long shot by Erkan Kurtaran in the 86th minute really tested Hüsnü Özonder's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tayyar Ünsevin during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th match minute, lazebura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tayyar Ünsevin to maneuver through the defense. Acar Sait's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Resul Bedih read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by lazebura's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pars Yıldız was slow to take the kick. During this time Galatasaray's players had a chance to rest. İlyas Teksoy's late challenge caught a Galatasaray's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. İlyas Teksoy helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to lazebura getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. İlyas Teksoy hit a great ball. Galatasaray's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
