Besim Hikmettin kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Sedat Hüryaşar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Muhittin Tanırcan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a rather tough play, Galata's Mehmet Bilge Kambay got a free kick in the 15th minute. 19 minutes into the game, Galata's Yaman Iğdırlı nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Turgay Okdemir made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Köksal Başol in the 23rd minute of play forced Ostim FK's goalkeeper Turgay Okdemir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Galata's goal looked a bit too open when Arif Çelebi Ulaş came free, but Muhittin Tanırcan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 30th minute Arif Çelebi Ulaş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Muhittin Tanırcan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Muhittin Tanırcan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zühtü Nadir, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Mehmet Bilge Kambay's late challenge caught a Ostim FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mehmet Bilge Kambay helped the player get up and apologised. Arif Çelebi Ulaş scored 3-1 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Muhittin Tanırcan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 44 minutes into the game, Galata's İslam Musa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Turgay Okdemir made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-2 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Yaman Iğdırlı to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Ostim FK's goal looked a bit too open when Mehmet Bilge Kambay came free, but Turgay Okdemir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Turgay Okdemir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yaman Iğdırlı in the 54th minute of the match. 55 minutes into the match, Arif Çelebi Ulaş notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Galata's Muhittin Tanırcan. Muhittin Tanırcan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Polat Burçak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Muhittin Tanırcan having to interfere. Turgay Okdemir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cezmi Cansefa in the 64th minute of play. Mehmet Bilge Kambay received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Turgay Okdemir came out and tried to block the shot, but Mehmet Bilge Kambay slotted it home off the left post making it 4-3 in the 67th minute. Yaman Iğdırlı in the 72ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Turgay Okdemir, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ostim FK's Turgay Okdemir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mehmet Bilge Kambay in the 73rd minute of play. The supporters of Ostim FK booed when Galata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. İslam Musa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Polat Burçak scored 5-3 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Muhittin Tanırcan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. İslam Musa charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed İslam Musa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Polat Burçak in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Muhittin Tanırcan saved Galata from getting behind. Galata's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Ostim FK had won, even though Galata had held more of the ball.
