Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ali Cafer Kutay took the kick off in the first half of the match. Birecik JK's Abdurrahim Yaltır got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hikmet Vuralhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erdal Ağaoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Hikmet Vuralhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erdal Ağaoğlu in the 7th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Abdurrahim Yaltır notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of GWANGJU's Hikmet Vuralhan. Hikmet Vuralhan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hikmet Vuralhan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdurrahim Yaltır, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ali Cafer Kutay might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mevlüt Er. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ali Cafer Kutay ran back to his position shaking his head. After 29 played minutes GWANGJU got a freekick which was hit by Çelik Onursal. Erdal Ağaoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hikmet Vuralhan having to interfere. In the 36th minute GWANGJU were awarded a corner. Yusuf Ziya Parsbay went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ali Cafer Kutay got free with Mevlüt Er in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ali Cafer Kutay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Yusuf Ziya Parsbay hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. The corner led Birecik JK's Rüştü Demirhan to fire away a dangerous shot which Hikmet Vuralhan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The GWANGJU players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Birecik JK were winning 0-1.

Birecik JK's Mevlüt Er played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Çelik Onursal in the 53rd minute of play. Erdal Ağaoğlu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 54th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Çelik Onursal might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mevlüt Er. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Çelik Onursal ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abdurrahim Yaltır got free with Hikmet Vuralhan in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sami Erseven's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mevlüt Er read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Çelik Onursal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mevlüt Er saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Özcan Özer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mevlüt Er having to interfere. When Çelik Onursal came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the GWANGJU fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Çelik Onursal couldn't finish the play. After having played for 77 minutes, Ali Cafer Kutay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GWANGJU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Cafer Kutay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Çelik Onursal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 82 minutes, Çelik Onursal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GWANGJU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Çelik Onursal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. GWANGJU's Çelik Onursal got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 89 played minutes GWANGJU got a freekick which was hit by Çelik Onursal. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind GWANGJU's goalkeeper Hikmet Vuralhan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Erdal Ağaoğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Birecik JK were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over GWANGJU's much stronger midfield.
