The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute Ahmet Necdet Sair shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bekir Çetinsoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kelkit's Yusuf Bahadır Bahar got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute Murathan Uygar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Semi Bayrak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yusuf Bahadır Bahar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Semi Bayrak having to interfere. Nihat Usun hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Murathan Uygar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kelkit's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murathan Uygar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 18 minutes into the game, Yusuf Bahadır Bahar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Semi Bayrak was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Murathan Uygar struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Semi Bayrak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kelkit. 28 minutes into the game, Murathan Uygar lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Semi Bayrak. 38 minutes into the match, Yusuf Bahadır Bahar notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Karakecili's Semi Bayrak. Semi Bayrak was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 44 played minutes Karakecili got a freekick which was hit by Tuncay Ateşoğlu. Nihat Usun was shown his second yellow card after 76 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 77th match minute, Karakecili was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nihat Usun to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kelkit's goalkeeper Bekir Çetinsoy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Semi Bayrak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murathan Uygar in the 82nd minute of the match. If Mehmet Şefik Lami had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
