Nazil İltay was extremely unlucky when he, in the 3rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 4th play minutes Güralp Kaşif shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Ali Cengiz Kazım and just under the crossbar into goal. With a little luck, GALATASARAY's Ali Cengiz Kazım got control of the ball when Güralp Kaşif tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ahmet İlke İcabi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hakkı Devrim Erginalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a defensive mix-up in GALATASARAY's zone, Güralp Kaşif stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Cengiz Kazım came out of the goal and Güralp Kaşif tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmet İlke İcabi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cankut Gürgen in the 25th minute of play. Hakkı Devrim Erginalp struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Ahmet İlke İcabi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GALATASARAY. Giray Falcıoğlu kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After 29 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for GALATASARAY! In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind GALATASARAY's goalkeeper Ali Cengiz Kazım, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hakkı Devrim Erginalp charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hakkı Devrim Erginalp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
