An unexpectedly hard shot by Altan Geylanoğullarından in the 7th minute of play forced Mardin United's goalkeeper Hamit Kurhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zikri Reşat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Vefa Beysun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vefa Umay kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Vefa Umay hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Abidin Çelikel hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 23 played minutes, Ataköy's Mustafa Cumhur Gayret shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hamit Kurhan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ataköy reached it. When Ataköy's Altan Geylanoğullarından in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 32nd match minute, Ataköy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vefa Umay to maneuver through the defense. If Emrullah Uğurlubey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emrullah Uğurlubey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Hamit Kurhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vefa Beysun made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Zikri Reşat sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Ataköy getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Kuddusî Başkur hit a great ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hüseyin Turan Rafi to strike the kick off in the second half. Hamit Kurhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Altan Geylanoğullarından, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Hüseyin Turan Rafi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mardin United's supporters rose to their feet, but Hüseyin Turan Rafi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vefa Beysun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 60th minute, Arda Çevikcan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hamit Kurhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Altan Geylanoğullarından in the 84th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mardin United's Abidin Çelikel got a free kick in the 84th minute. Zikri Reşat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Hüseyin Turan Rafi came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Mardin United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hüseyin Turan Rafi couldn't finish the play. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ataköy! For all the effort they put into the match, the Ataköy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mardin United.
