The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arif Akıncıbeyoğlu came out of the goal and Zühtü Candeğer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Abdullah Ongul fell near the penalty area in the 14th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AKKOC FC's protests and gave Abdullah Ongul a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Saphane booed when AKKOC FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdullah Ongul didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kutay Demirman struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Necaettin Özenli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AKKOC FC. The attack was good, but when Kutay Demirman in the 19th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. AKKOC FC's Hikmet Oğuz got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The wind increased when Zühtü Candeğer made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Zühtü Candeğer had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Rıfat Pınar's late challenge caught a Saphane's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rıfat Pınar helped the player get up and apologised. Rıfat Pınar hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in AKKOC FC's zone, Yıldıray Sancar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arif Akıncıbeyoğlu came out of the goal and Yıldıray Sancar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hakan Uçuk might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arif Akıncıbeyoğlu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hakan Uçuk ran back to his position shaking his head. Hakan Uçuk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Armağan Hataylı recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over Saphane could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AKKOC FC throughout the match.
