Corlu SK's Güral Pekin got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Güral Pekin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Metin Onat put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Baybars Yüksel. Baybars Yüksel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Güral Pekin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baybars Yüksel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Metin Onat's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. 25 minutes into the match, Corlu SK's goalkeeper Dinç Kutal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hüsrev Şems. Metin Onat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baybars Yüksel having to interfere. After having played for 29 minutes, Metin Onat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corlu SK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Metin Onat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Metin Onat came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Corlu SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Metin Onat couldn't finish the play. In the 36th minute, Güral Pekin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baybars Yüksel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Güral Pekin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baybars Yüksel having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Güral Pekin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Baybars Yüksel. Sakaryaspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Güral Pekin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Güral Pekin made a kick off. Corlu SK's Güral Pekin got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 60 minutes into the match, Sakaryaspor's goal looked a bit too open when Güral Pekin came free, but Baybars Yüksel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
