When Hüsrev Denizcan fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gölbasi's protests and gave Hüsrev Denizcan a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of galatasarau booed when Gölbasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hüsrev Denizcan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ertunç Bilgiç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdi Baykal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hami Ülgen couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Enginsu Hatip got free with Refik Halit Mukbil in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Refik Halit Mukbil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hami Ülgen in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute Abdulvahit Arısal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ertunç Bilgiç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The galatasarau players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Gölbasi from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
