The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Yeşilbayırbelediyespor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ahmet Rıfat Tekke to maneuver through the defense. 4 minutes into the game, Şenel Yenbu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Cezmi İlenç was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 10 minutes into the match, Merlin sk's goalkeeper Süleyman Safa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cuma Öztek. Özbek Özçelik kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Şenel Yenbu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merlin sk's supporters rose to their feet, but Şenel Yenbu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cezmi İlenç breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Süleyman Safa came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Yeşilbayırbelediyespor's Selim Yöner. But to his dismay, Selim Yöner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. In the 25th minute of the match Savaş Salim sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Süleyman Safa skillfully saved the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Şenel Yenbu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cezmi İlenç. Yeşilbayırbelediyespor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Şenel Yenbu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Cezmi İlenç showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şenel Yenbu in the 39th minute of the match. With a little luck, Merlin sk's Süleyman Safa got control of the ball when Cuma Öztek tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 47th minute, Selim Yöner reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Süleyman Safa. The goal made the score 2-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Selim Yöner made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Savaş Salim during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Yeşilbayırbelediyespor:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Merlin sk:s goal. In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Merlin sk. Garip Dalmaz stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cezmi İlenç. 2-4. Gündüz Kocakalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Cezmi İlenç tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, Ecevit Esentürk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Merlin sk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-5. Cezmi İlenç stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Şenel Yenbu's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Selim Yöner succeeded in the game's 90th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-5. With a little luck, Yeşilbayırbelediyespor's Cezmi İlenç got control of the ball when Gündüz Kocakalp tried to sneak it across the goal line. Selim Yöner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Merlin sk's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
