Trabzon's supporters rose to their feet, but Cumali Taze was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lütfullah Numan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Trabzon's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Göktas JK the free kick. 39 minutes into the game, one of Trabzon:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. After a rather tough play, Göktas JK's Baturalp Dürüst got a free kick in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hüsnü Hızır received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Pekin Sazak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bayezit Gürgan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
