Icerenköy's Arif Cengiz Vaha got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bülent Hallaç in the 47th minute of play forced Eskişehir Jimnastik Klübü's goalkeeper Saltuk Başay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gafur Özcebe made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Icerenköy's Bülent Hallaç slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Saltuk Başay. That made the score 0-1 after 51 minutes of play. If Arif Cengiz Vaha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eskişehir Jimnastik Klübü's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Icerenköy the free kick. Gafur Özcebe hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match.
