The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Salihli SK's goalkeeper Abbas Oray, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 12thth minute of the game Ahmet Yahya Eryiğit who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caglar's Tolunay Hicran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Salihli SK's Pars Ongunalp got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 17th minute, Yıldırım Taymaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Yıldırım Taymaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Caglar booed when Salihli SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hadi Neşet didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of Caglar:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Salihli SK:s goal. In the 25th minute there was a penalty for Salihli SK. Yiğit Can Alansoy stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tolunay Hicran. 0-1. Tolunay Hicran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Yahya Eryiğit in the 33rd minute of play. If Yıldırım Taymaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute Pars Ongunalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tolunay Hicran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yıldırım Taymaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Abbas Oray tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Caglar's Tolunay Hicran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bedih Tuğ in the 47th minute of play.

The wind increased when Pars Ongunalp made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ahmet Yahya Eryiğit got free with Tolunay Hicran in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pars Ongunalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tolunay Hicran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tolunay Hicran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ahmet Yahya Eryiğit in the 58th minute. In the 77th minute, Pars Ongunalp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Yıldırım Taymaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abbas Oray having to interfere. Ahmet Yahya Eryiğit in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tolunay Hicran, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ahmet Yahya Eryiğit struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Tolunay Hicran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Salihli SK. Abbas Oray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Yıldırım Taymaz in the 92nd minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
