Selahaddin Geylan charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 21 played minutes Elazig SK got a freekick which was hit by Dündar Oğuzbay. In the 28th match minute, Catalca SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Selahaddin Geylan to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute, Kasım Alpsoy sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Catalca SK's Erman Akkın didn't even have to move. The audience was convinced that Necmi Budun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erman Akkın was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Çelik Başol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Lefter Bircanoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Necmi Budun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erman Akkın having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Çelik Başol was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Elazig SK's Necmi Budun got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Necmi Budun scored 1-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erman Akkın, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 62nd minute, Arman Ortaçgil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mehmet Halis Nursal struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Erman Akkın didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Elazig SK. After a defensive mix-up in Catalca SK's zone, Mehmet Halis Nursal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erman Akkın came out of the goal and Mehmet Halis Nursal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 68 minutes into the match, Elazig SK's goalkeeper Lefter Bircanoğlu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Çelik Başol. If Necmi Budun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Necmi Budun's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Erman Akkın was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. When Necmi Budun came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Elazig SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Necmi Budun couldn't finish the play. Çelik Başol succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 84th playminute. Eray Tokuz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erman Akkın having to interfere. Erman Akkın made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Necmi Budun in the 96th minute of play. The Catalca SK players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Elazig SK from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
