Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Yunus Yücetekin started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 5 minutes into the match, Kütahya's goal looked a bit too open when Kutluay İzci came free, but Kutlualp Demirağ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Göksel Korhan hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After 11 played minutes, Rize's Ahmet Necdet Kiyas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kutlualp Demirağ came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Rize reached it. In the 13th minute Kutluay İzci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kutlualp Demirağ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Kütahya's Göksel Korhan got a free kick in the 15th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Melik Taykut during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kütahya fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! In the 18th minute there was a penalty for Rize. Ahmet Necdet Kiyas stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kutlualp Demirağ. 0-1. Bektaş Veli Şemsifer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hasan Can Akyel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. The attack was good, but when Ahmet Hafiz Özal in the 29th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Kutluay İzci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ahmet Hafiz Özal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kutlualp Demirağ having to interfere. Ahmet Hafiz Özal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Kutlualp Demirağ tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sabahattin Babayiğit during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sabahattin Babayiğit hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Bektaş Veli Şemsifer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hasan Can Akyel having to make a save. If Yunus Yücetekin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Kutluay İzci made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th match minute, Kütahya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sabahattin Babayiğit to maneuver through the defense. Bektaş Veli Şemsifer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Hasan Can Akyel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yunus Yücetekin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hasan Can Akyel having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rize's Ahmet Necdet Kiyas got a free kick in the 68th minute. Hasan Can Akyel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bektaş Veli Şemsifer, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Kütahya's Kutlualp Demirağ proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Kütahya from getting a goal against them. Ahmet Hafiz Özal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kutluay İzci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 77 minutes, Ahmet Hafiz Özal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rize's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Hafiz Özal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yunus Yücetekin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Kütahya's Arif Egemen Mukerrem broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Hasan Can Akyel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yunus Yücetekin in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Rize eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
