In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind İZMİRSPOR's goalkeeper Ferdi Ulutekin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Gökçen Onurkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reşit Okanay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gökçen Onurkan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lütfullah Birsen was the one to do the kick off. If Gökçen Onurkan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to trabzon getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Cafer Öztunç hit a great ball. 69 minutes into the game, Lütfullah Birsen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ferdi Ulutekin. Lütfullah Birsen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. trabzon's Boran Işılay got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zekai Ünsevin hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ahmet Arif İdilkurt during the 82nd minute. Ahmet Arif İdilkurt hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. The long shot by Cafer Öztunç in the 100th minute really tested Ferdi Ulutekin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
