İlhami Uzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ertaç Oncubay, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Ali Erdem Okanay struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Ahmet İlhan Cumali didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Çengel. If Ertaç Oncubay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th match minute, Trabzonspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Türkeş Egesel to maneuver through the defense. In the 34thth minute of the game Ali Erdem Okanay who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Trabzonspor's Ahmet İlhan Cumali was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Faruk Nafiz Turbay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ahmet İlhan Cumali was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. 37 minutes into the game, Özbek Türkmen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Trabzonspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Çengel the free kick. Özbek Türkmen kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. İlhami Uzman was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Cabbar Sav. The supporters of Trabzonspor booed when Çengel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cankut Yağız didn't get a good kick on the ball. İlhami Uzman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mustafa Barış Tatu in the 50th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ertaç Oncubay was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Ertaç Oncubay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but İlhami Uzman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mustafa Barış Tatu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 60 minutes, Ali Erdem Okanay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Çengel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Erdem Okanay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Orbay Laçin walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. If Ali Erdem Okanay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ahmet İlhan Cumali stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Faruk Nafiz Turbay's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Okaner Beşer during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Okaner Beşer hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After 78 minutes, Ali Erdem Okanay made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Trabzonspor's Ahmet İlhan Cumali tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. İlhami Uzman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mustafa Barış Tatu in the 83rd minute of the match. Ali Erdem Okanay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 98th minute, Mustafa Barış Tatu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. İlhami Uzman was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.
