The referee ignored Gayrettepe JK's protests and gave Cüneyt Savaş a yellow card for diving instead. Cüneyt Savaş kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Halit Fahri Özozan in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uğuralp Tecimen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Halit Fahri Özozan came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Gayrettepe JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Halit Fahri Özozan couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Kandilli getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Enes Mansız hit a great ball. Gayrettepe JK's Onurhan Muhittin got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gayrettepe JK's goalkeeper Aytunç Ünver, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Kandilli walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
