Ahmet Ali Onkal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 9 minutes, Sefa Urza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kayserispor FK and the Kandilli players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Kayserispor FK's Sefa Urza got a free kick in the 9th minute. Enes Mansız hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ali Kürşat Nurettin got free with Mehmet Hakkı Baltaş in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 18th minute Ahmet Ali Onkal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Hakkı Baltaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ahmet Ali Onkal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mehmet Hakkı Baltaş read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. If Ahmet Ali Onkal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 28th match minute, Kandilli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tugay Özinal to maneuver through the defense. Namık Kemal Kurceren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Uğuralp Tecimen having to interfere. Namık Kemal Kurceren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Namık Kemal Kurceren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sefa Urza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Sefa Urza made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Ahmet Ali Onkal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Hakkı Baltaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mehmet Hakkı Baltaş took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Kürşat Nurettin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Kandilli's zone, Sefa Urza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Uğuralp Tecimen came out of the goal and Sefa Urza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74th minute Ali Kürşat Nurettin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Hakkı Baltaş saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ali Kürşat Nurettin came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Kandilli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ali Kürşat Nurettin couldn't finish the play. Namık Kemal Kurceren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Uğuralp Tecimen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Kandilli's Uğuralp Tecimen got control of the ball when Sefa Urza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enes Mansız kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Mehmet Hakkı Baltaş showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Kürşat Nurettin, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Namık Kemal Kurceren hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, Ahmet Ali Onkal made a precise shot to the right of Mehmet Hakkı Baltaş. Kayserispor FK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kayserispor FK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Kandilli.
