When Rasim Sargınal came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Gürün fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rasim Sargınal couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ceyhun Özertan in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aytunç Ünver saved Gayrettepe JK from getting behind. After having played for 12 minutes, Sefa Mengüalp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gayrettepe JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sefa Mengüalp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Aytunç Ünver showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aysan Kazanhan, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. The audience was convinced that Rasim Sargınal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aytunç Ünver was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Gayrettepe JK's Aytunç Ünver played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rasim Sargınal in the 23rd minute of play. After 25 minutes, Ceyhun Özertan made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Gayrettepe JK's Aytunç Ünver tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 29 played minutes Gayrettepe JK got a freekick which was hit by Onurhan Muhittin. 30 minutes into the game, Gürün's Rasim Sargınal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aytunç Ünver made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. A collision led to Gürün getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Cihan Uludoğan hit a great ball. Mete Cangiray made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Sefa Mengüalp sent off a good shot on target. Arif Gaffar Nazif charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arif Gaffar Nazif the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Gürün's Arif Gaffar Nazif got a free kick in the 35th minute. Bayhan Şenalp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gayrettepe JK's Aytunç Ünver played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rasim Sargınal in the 42nd minute of play. Mete Cangiray took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Halit Fahri Özozan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Halit Fahri Özozan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hakkı Devrim Camcı hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Gayrettepe JK's Aytunç Ünver played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdurrahman Onatkan in the 53rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Aysan Kazanhan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mete Cangiray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sefa Mengüalp in the 60th minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Halit Fahri Özozan made a precise shot to the right of Mete Cangiray. Gürün's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Mete Cangiray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Halit Fahri Özozan in the 67th minute of the match. If Sefa Mengüalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aytunç Ünver made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Rasim Sargınal sent off a good shot on target. Aytunç Ünver was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ceyhun Özertan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 71 minute of play. With a little luck, Gayrettepe JK's Aytunç Ünver got control of the ball when Rasim Sargınal tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Gürün booed when Gayrettepe JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nazım Sekib didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aytunç Ünver didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gürün. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bayhan Şenalp during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Bayhan Şenalp hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Nazım Sekib's late challenge caught a Gürün's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nazım Sekib helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd match minute, Gayrettepe JK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nazım Sekib to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute of the match Abdurrahman Onatkan shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aytunç Ünver showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 95 minutes into the match, Gayrettepe JK's goal looked a bit too open when Abdurrahman Onatkan came free, but Aytunç Ünver reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gürün's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
