Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) In the 4th minute Ferhat Balaban shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kayhan Hedef saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Derman Onkal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Battal Gazi Başeğmez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. 7 minutes into the match, Gediz FK's goalkeeper Kayhan Hedef had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferhat Balaban. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gediz FK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Yahya Genişyürek was slow to take the kick. During this time Galatasaray's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Yahya Genişyürek almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gediz FK's Kayhan Hedef did a great save. Vecdet Ilgıt charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vecdet Ilgıt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 9th minute, Vecdet Ilgıt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 28th minute, Ahmet Haşim Timurhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Battal Gazi Başeğmez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Turan Ünek in the 29th minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Galatasaray was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fadıl Yalım to maneuver through the defense. Battal Gazi Başeğmez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Derman Onkal in the 36th minute of the match. Galatasaray's Battal Gazi Başeğmez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derman Onkal in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th minute, Ferhat Balaban fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Derman Onkal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Atay Raci. In the 53rd minute, Arman Kaim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Battal Gazi Başeğmez made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Serhan Tüzeman sent off a good shot on target. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Gediz FK's Derman Onkal in the 58th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Battal Gazi Başeğmez was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Galatasaray through an amazing save. Galatasaray's Battal Gazi Başeğmez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Turan Ünek in the 59th minute of play. Abdulhamit Torcan's late challenge caught a Gediz FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abdulhamit Torcan helped the player get up and apologised. Battal Gazi Başeğmez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Derman Onkal in the 61st minute of play. In the 64thth minute of the game Atay Raci who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gediz FK's Kayhan Hedef was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Turan Ünek came free, but Battal Gazi Başeğmez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Galatasaray's Yahya Genişyürek sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kayhan Hedef narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ferhat Balaban hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Serhan Tüzeman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 76 minutes into the game, Habib Batıhan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Kayhan Hedef was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gediz FK's Derman Onkal got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Turan Ünek in the 82nd minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Battal Gazi Başeğmez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Derman Onkal came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Gediz FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Derman Onkal couldn't finish the play. Galatasaray's Battal Gazi Başeğmez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Galatasaray from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Gediz FK booed when Galatasaray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abdulhamit Torcan didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Gediz FK players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Galatasaray from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
