The Fenerbahçe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tansu Tonguç should have stopped the shot. Mehmet Osman Övünç was a little too slow when Sufi Gökkuşağı got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 93rd of the match, Sufi Gökkuşağı tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Mehmet Osman Övünç got in the way and made a wonderful save. Güralp Yurtsever fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Osman Övünç having to interfere. After having played for 98 minutes, Sufi Gökkuşağı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
