Mustafa Necati Olguner kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. In the 8thth minute of the game Kamuran Tolunay who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Izmit's Ahmet Erdem Adıgün was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Birkan Pehlivan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Birkan Pehlivan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Izmit's supporters rose to their feet, but Birkan Pehlivan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaptan Sabi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Feyyaz Uğurcan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 24 minutes, Baki Çeliksu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cerrahpasa FK and the Izmit players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bayhan Veli during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 30th minute of the game. One of Izmit:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cerrahpasa FK:s goal. In the 32nd minute there was a penalty for Cerrahpasa FK. Izmit's Ahmet Erdem Adıgün played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kamuran Tolunay in the 42nd minute of play. Hüsnü Rasif fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Erdem Adıgün having to interfere. 46 minutes into the match, Cerrahpasa FK's Kamuran Tolunay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ahmet Erdem Adıgün narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Ahmet Hayri Keskin fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Izmit's protests and gave Ahmet Hayri Keskin a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cerrahpasa FK booed when Izmit was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. In the 84th match minute, Izmit was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Feyyaz Uğurcan to maneuver through the defense. Izmit's Ahmet Erdem Adıgün proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Izmit from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Izmit's zone, Hüsnü Rasif stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmet Erdem Adıgün came out of the goal and Hüsnü Rasif tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hüsnü Rasif came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Cerrahpasa FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hüsnü Rasif couldn't finish the play. Kaptan Sabi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Birkan Pehlivan went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Cerrahpasa FK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
