The audience thought a goal was coming when Ersin Hekim got free with Mümtazer Sarısaltuk in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute, Abidin Şükür hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ferhan Başer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. Batu Cem Eracar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zaid Yerlikaya in the 84th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute of the match Arif Cengiz Alyakut sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mümtazer Sarısaltuk skillfully saved the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the sirinevler FK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Van.
