Gelibolu FK's Oğuzhan Yücelen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Gelibolu FK from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 6 minutes, Oğuzhan Yücelen successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafet Rasih got free with Oğuzhan Yücelen in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 9th minute, Rafet Rasih ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oğuzhan Yücelen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Samsunspor FK's Resulhan Tarık played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Boğaçhan Özben in the 22nd minute of play. Burhanettin Bekata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 29 minutes into the match, Gelibolu FK's goalkeeper Oğuzhan Yücelen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafet Rasih. Ahmet Baki Yeğrek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Resulhan Tarık having to make a save. Boğaçhan Özben took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Resulhan Tarık. Resulhan Tarık dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Resulhan Tarık took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Baki Yeğrek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ahmet Baki Yeğrek was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Şeref Yıldırım ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oğuzhan Yücelen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Rafet Rasih received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Oğuzhan Yücelen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, Gelibolu FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arif Burak İstikbal to maneuver through the defense. Resulhan Tarık showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Baki Yeğrek in the 67th minute of the match. If Boğaçhan Özben had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gelibolu FK's Boğaçhan Özben got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Özer Rakim's late challenge caught a Samsunspor FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Özer Rakim helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, Özer Rakim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haşmet Şentürk kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Samsunspor FK had won after a very even match.
