After a rather tough play, Fethiye's Yaser Togan got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Şentürk Zor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vatan Kurhan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Vedat Belek in the 13th minute of play forced Ankara FK's goalkeeper Fethi Oğuralp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th match minute, Ankara FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arslan Hacısalihoğlu to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mümtaz Uğursoy got free with Şentürk Zor in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Şentürk Zor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vatan Kurhan, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Asaf Tecer hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Necip Fazıl Diclehan missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 31 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Fethi Oğuralp right hand side. Vatan Kurhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şentürk Zor having to interfere. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fethiye's goalkeeper Şentürk Zor, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fethi Oğuralp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mehmet Hamdi Selman in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vatan Kurhan to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Vatan Kurhan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Şentürk Zor was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Ankara FK's Fethi Oğuralp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Ankara FK from getting a goal against them. 61 minutes into the game, Vatan Kurhan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. When Mümtaz Uğursoy came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Ankara FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mümtaz Uğursoy couldn't finish the play. If Vatan Kurhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 minutes, Ali Vedat Belek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fethiye and the Ankara FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th match minute, Fethiye was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ali Vedat Belek to maneuver through the defense. 80 minutes into the match, Mehmet Hamdi Selman notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Ankara FK's Fethi Oğuralp. Fethi Oğuralp was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ali Vedat Belek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fethi Oğuralp having to interfere. Mümtaz Uğursoy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Şentürk Zor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mümtaz Uğursoy went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score.
