Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Seyhan Cezri started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Seyhan Cezri in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ali Nejat Zorlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Genclerbirligi's Şeray Işık pulled a muscle in his back after 6 minutes and couldn't finish the game. In the 7th minute, Tacettin Saip hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Batuğ Şafakoğlu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Petkim's Ramiz Tüney. Ramiz Tüney was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Güray Oray hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Batuğ Şafakoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Batuğ Şafakoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Genclerbirligi's Ali Nejat Zorlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Seyhan Cezri in the 24th minute of play. Ali Nejat Zorlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seyhan Cezri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bahattin Hececi fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Petkim's protests and gave Bahattin Hececi a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Petkim getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Bahattin Hececi hit a great ball. İhsan Öktüre charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed İhsan Öktüre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Petkim booed when Genclerbirligi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. İhsan Öktüre didn't get a good kick on the ball.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Batuğ Şafakoğlu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ramiz Tüney made an important save on a dangerous shot by Batuğ Şafakoğlu in the 54th minute. If Batuğ Şafakoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes Petkim got a freekick which was hit by Halim Aytuğ. 64 minutes into the match, Petkim's goalkeeper Ramiz Tüney had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Batuğ Şafakoğlu. In the 64th match minute, Petkim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Halim Aytuğ to maneuver through the defense. Necat Tayfur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Petkim's Seyhan Cezri, in the 69th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Petkim. 71 minutes into the match, Genclerbirligi's goal looked a bit too open when Necat Tayfur came free, but Ali Nejat Zorlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Genclerbirligi's Batuğ Şafakoğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Necat Tayfur blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ali Nejat Zorlu having to make a save. Seyhan Cezri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Seyhan Cezri came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Petkim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Seyhan Cezri couldn't finish the play. Necat Tayfur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ali Nejat Zorlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seyhan Cezri in the 89th minute of the match. Güray Oray's late challenge caught a Petkim's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Güray Oray helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Genclerbirligi's Güray Oray got a free kick in the 90th minute. Batuğ Şafakoğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Genclerbirligi's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
