The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Birkan Usalan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kerimhan Akbuğ in the 5th minute. Arif Gaffar Olcay hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute Vacid Balısoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birkan Usalan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tekin Şehzade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Behlül İlksel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cenan Dede came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Kangal JK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cenan Dede couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Vacid Balısoy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Karpuzlu's supporters rose to their feet, but Vacid Balısoy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Birkan Usalan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 47th match minute, Karpuzlu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vacid Balısoy to maneuver through the defense. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cenan Dede to strike the kick off in the second half. Kangal JK's Tekin Şehzade got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vacid Balısoy in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Birkan Usalan saved Kangal JK from getting behind. Kangal JK's Cenan Dede got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Behlül İlksel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cenan Dede, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cenan Dede received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Behlül İlksel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Karpuzlu's Behlül İlksel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cenan Dede in the 91st minute of play.
