The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 7 minutes into the match, Akşemseddin Kınık dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cafer Çoğan, 1-0. Işık Zoral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Hakkı Devrim Usluer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hakkı Devrim Usluer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alptuğ Karlukhan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Marmara JK booed when Hamur JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Göktürk Tayguner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fethi Kamaci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Cafer Çoğan made a huge save. Tuncay Topdemir's late challenge caught a Hamur JK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tuncay Topdemir helped the player get up and apologised. Tuncay Topdemir hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. When Tuncay Topdemir was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 21 minutes had been played. In the 23rd minute, Kuddusî Tuncalp sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Marmara JK's Hakkı Devrim Usluer didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Işık Zoral in the 26th minute of play forced Marmara JK's goalkeeper Hakkı Devrim Usluer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Işık Zoral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fethi Kamaci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cafer Çoğan made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Fethi Kamaci sent off a good shot on target. Hakkı Devrim Usluer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alptuğ Karlukhan in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marmara JK's goalkeeper Hakkı Devrim Usluer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fethi Kamaci's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cafer Çoğan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Hamur JK's Ali Emir Hataylı got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Marmara JK getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Necip Fazıl Ongar hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Marmara JK's Akşemseddin Kınık got a free kick in the 57th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Hamur JK's Kuddusî Tuncalp tried to score from far away in the 58th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Işık Zoral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Işık Zoral's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 68thth minute, Hakkı Devrim Usluer skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Hamur JK getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Mehmet Şenaltan hit a great ball. Rafet Akartuna took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cafer Çoğan. Hamur JK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 72 minutes, Akşemseddin Kınık managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marmara JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Akşemseddin Kınık was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hakkı Devrim Usluer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alptuğ Karlukhan in the 81st minute of play. Fethi Kamaci scored 2-2 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cafer Çoğan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Fethi Kamaci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 89 played minutes Hamur JK got a freekick which was hit by Göktürk Tayguner. Marmara JK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
