An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustafa Orhan Keçeli in the 5th minute of play forced Ceyhan SK's goalkeeper Nazil Kalhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Alp Çetintürk suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. 36 minutes into the game, Şevket Sarih was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ceyhan SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Türkoglu the free kick. Ahmet İlhan Tüzüner took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 38th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nazil Kalhan. Ceyhan SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tacettin Saykut received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Gencalp Turhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nazil Dilhan, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 68th minute, Tacettin Saykut ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gencalp Turhan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Ahmet Danış Bahar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nazil Kalhan having to interfere. In the 91st minute Tacettin Saykut shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gencalp Turhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 played minutes Türkoglu got a freekick which was hit by Orbay Konuralp. Ceyhan SK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
