Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergen Sergen, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Pedro Indiano heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Jay Jowsey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 16th minute of play. Jose Manzanedo kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Jose Manzanedo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Sergen Sergen came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rdth minute of the game Sergen Sergen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 24th minute of the match Attard Gunners got a corner. Chile's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Godwin Sapiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nathan Baldacchino made a great header on Attard Gunners's corner, it was just that Chile's Thiago Pliego managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Attard Gunners getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Glenn Bailey hit a great ball. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Said in the 29th minute of play. Neville Ciscaldi made in the 35th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Alan Said immediately put the ball in play. In the 36thth minute of the game Alan Said who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sergen Sergen's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Attard Gunners from getting a goal against them. With his leg Jay Jowsey managed to avoid a goal in the 46thth minute, when Chile's Mariano Lacasa fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Noel Xerri during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Noel Xerri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. Jay Jowsey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 52nd minute of the match. Attard Gunners's Jay Jowsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 54th minute of play. Sergen Sergen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Thiago Pliego made a huge save. Xavier Figueroa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 84 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jay Jowsey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Chile's Orlando Casaus got a free kick in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Said in the 86th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thiago Pliego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alan Said went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Attard Gunners's Michael Testaferrata Olivier was substituted for Alan Said. Attard Gunners's Adrian Savona was substituted for Sergen Sergen. Attard Gunners succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Chile had controlled the match.
