In the 7th match minute, Kurtköy FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Işık Satı to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Kurtköy FK's zone, Caner Kiner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Güralp Tokuztuğ came out of the goal and Caner Kiner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kuddusî Hisar blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aytunç Taykara having to make a save. Ahmet Yahya Demirer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Kuddusî Hisar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kurtköy FK's Kuddusî Hisar got a free kick in the 21st minute. Baturay Çubuk might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Güralp Tokuztuğ. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baturay Çubuk ran back to his position shaking his head. Aytunç Taykara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eşref Açıkel in the 30th minute of play. Kuddusî Hisar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 33 minutes, Mustafa Kemal Akbey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kurtköy FK and the Istanbulspor players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute, Mustafa Kemal Akbey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ahmet Yahya Demirer might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Güralp Tokuztuğ. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 36th match minute, Kurtköy FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kıraç Çavlı to maneuver through the defense. Kurtköy FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Caner Kiner scored to the left of an out of position Güralp Tokuztuğ, making the score, 1-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

54 minutes into the game, Ahmet Nasir Veysel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Istanbulspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kurtköy FK the free kick. In the 55th minute, Ahmet Nasir Veysel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Özgür Yoran, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 62nd match minute, Kurtköy FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Işık Satı to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Kurtköy FK defense, Caner Kiner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Güralp Tokuztuğ. The Kurtköy FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Güralp Tokuztuğ should have stopped the shot. Aytunç Taykara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eşref Açıkel, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eşref Açıkel in the 72nd minute of play forced Istanbulspor's goalkeeper Aytunç Taykara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Eşref Açıkel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 83 minutes, Caner Kiner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Istanbulspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Caner Kiner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Güralp Tokuztuğ showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Yahya Demirer in the 84th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Kurtköy FK's Eşref Açıkel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Kuddusî Hisar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kurtköy FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kuddusî Hisar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aytunç Taykara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 97th minute, Eşref Açıkel fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
