Sürmene SK's Süruri İslam got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Egemen Zorbey managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pozanti SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Egemen Zorbey was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duran Tavgaç breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, Sürmene SK's goal looked a bit too open when Egemen Zorbey came free, but Duran Tavgaç reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes in the game, Hidayet Tutkun fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ahmet Sedat Baler having to interfere. After recieving a nice pass, Sürmene SK's Baki Tezveren tried to score from far away in the 29th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Ahmet Hasan Uğursay came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Pozanti SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ahmet Hasan Uğursay couldn't finish the play. If Hilmi Hisar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Duran Tavgaç showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egemen Zorbey in the 38th minute of the match. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pozanti SK reached it. In the 48th minute, Hilmi Hisar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The wind increased when Hidayet Tutkun made the kick off in the second half. Korhan Saatçi took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Duran Tavgaç. Sürmene SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hidayet Tutkun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Ahmet Sedat Baler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute Süruri İslam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Sedat Baler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pozanti SK getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Gökcan Canbek hit a great ball. Ahmet Sedat Baler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hidayet Tutkun went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. If Süruri İslam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Süruri İslam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Sedat Baler having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hidayet Tutkun in the 86th minute of play forced Pozanti SK's goalkeeper Ahmet Sedat Baler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Hilmi Hisar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Egemen Zorbey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sürmene SK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pozanti SK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
