In the 11th minute Başaran Balcıoğlu managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Rıdvan Aktar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Battal Cüneyt Zahir having to interfere. Abuzer Akadlı's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Battal Cüneyt Zahir read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Abuzer Akadlı to strike the kick off in the second half. Yavuzalp Muhsin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erberk Ongut read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rıdvan Aktar in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Battal Cüneyt Zahir prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Güvenç Vacit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abuzer Akadlı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Battal Cüneyt Zahir having to interfere. After having played for 74 minutes, Abuzer Akadlı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balikesir JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abuzer Akadlı was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
