The audience was convinced that Şahap Ekvan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mirkelam Özak was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. İslam Çelikel charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed İslam Çelikel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

If Şahap Ekvan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ahmet Hakan Yöner struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Mirkelam Özak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Akköy. After a rather tough play, Bornova's Hakkı Onur Tongar got a free kick in the 67th minute. In the 67th minute of the match Kutluay Harmancı shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mirkelam Özak showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Bornova's Mirkelam Özak got control of the ball when Şahap Ekvan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Akköy's Osman Akalın played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yıldıray Olgunsoy in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Kutluay Harmancı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Şahap Ekvan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
