The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. İsmail Yalavaç struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Ali Behzat Tunak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İsmail Yalavaç, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Görele's zone, İsmail Yalavaç stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Behzat Tunak came out of the goal and İsmail Yalavaç tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ali Faruk İhtiyar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Ekber Dengizer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tolga Siret sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ali Faruk İhtiyar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for İsmail Yalavaç to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 90th minute, Van SK's İsmail Yalavaç dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. Van SK played a much better game than Görele and deserved their victory. The Görele players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
