The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 21st minute, Ahmet Ege Kudsi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ahmet Ege Kudsi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Alsancak booed when Istanbul SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ardahan Ergökmen didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ediz Hayırlı prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 40 minutes into the match, Istanbul SK's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Ege Kudsi came free, but Ediz Hayırlı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ali Kağan Tayguner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eser Akansel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Dinçer Sirri's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ediz Hayırlı was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. In the 74th match minute, Istanbul SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oğuz Özgun to maneuver through the defense. In the 75thth minute of the game Ahmet Ege Kudsi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Istanbul SK's Ediz Hayırlı was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dinçer Sirri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ediz Hayırlı stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ahmet Ege Kudsi's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. In the 80th minute, Asım Arif Seyban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eser Akansel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fatih Dural's late challenge caught a Alsancak's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fatih Dural helped the player get up and apologised. 89 minutes into the game, Erenay İskender cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ediz Hayırlı was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the Alsancak players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
