The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 8 minutes into the game, Muhittin Özdoa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ali Nabi Kongar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Karahan Memduh hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Samsun's Abdulvahit Temizkan got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Muhittin Özdoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 28th minute by Ahmet Arif Ökmener got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Fehmi Gümüşcü received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Keramettin Uğur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Tire's zone, Muhittin Özdoa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Nabi Kongar came out of the goal and Muhittin Özdoa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When Zeynel Temizkal fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tire's protests and gave Zeynel Temizkal a yellow card for diving instead. In the 55th match minute, Tire was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeynel Temizkal to maneuver through the defense. 58 minutes had been played when some careless play by Tire's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ali Nejat Keşif was slow to take the kick. During this time Samsun's players had a chance to rest. After 62 minutes Tire's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ali Nejat Keşif who took care of the corner kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Göksun Batır advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-2 in the 63rd minute. After 67th play minutes Ahmet Arif Ökmener shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Keramettin Uğur and just under the crossbar into goal. Yaşar Nuri Sanih kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 72nd match minute, Tire was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yaşar Nuri Sanih to maneuver through the defense. Ali Nabi Kongar made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Muhittin Özdoa sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Tire getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Yaşar Nuri Sanih hit a great ball. Ali Nabi Kongar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdulvahit Temizkan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78thth minute of the game Fehmi Gümüşcü who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Samsun's Keramettin Uğur was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Abdulvahit Temizkan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ali Nabi Kongar having to interfere. Ahmet Arif Ökmener blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Keramettin Uğur having to make a save. Fehmi Gümüşcü fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Keramettin Uğur having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Samsun's zone, Ahmet Arif Ökmener stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Keramettin Uğur came out of the goal and Ahmet Arif Ökmener tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Muhittin Özdoa struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Ali Nabi Kongar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Samsun. In the 95th match minute, Tire was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karahan Memduh to maneuver through the defense. Samsun's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
