A collision led to Adapazari getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Necmettin Özselen hit a great ball. Nizam Yumus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ali Cafer Tezal, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The audience was convinced that Sermet Uruk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mehmet Osman Uçbeyi was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Samsun SK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vefa Uluçam in the 46th minute. The corner led to Samsun SK's Atilla Kağan Çağlar getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Mehmet Osman Uçbeyi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramiz İklim in the 49th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sermet Uruk was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ali Cafer Tezal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Adapazari's supporters rose to their feet, but Ali Cafer Tezal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nizam Yumus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Cafer Tezal in the 57th minute of play forced Samsun SK's goalkeeper Nizam Yumus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Selçuk Sadan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nizam Yumus firmly grabbed it by the left post. Samsun SK's Ramiz İklim got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Ramiz İklim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mehmet Osman Uçbeyi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sermet Uruk might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mehmet Osman Uçbeyi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sermet Uruk ran back to his position shaking his head. Selçuk Sadan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Nizam Yumus made a huge save. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
