Beşir Seyhan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With an all-out effort, Ataköy FK's Nizam Yumus threw himself towards the right post 5 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cengiz Bergin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When Levent Erkılınç fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ataköy FK's protests and gave Levent Erkılınç a yellow card for diving instead. Levent Erkılınç hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Vefa Uluçam, 10 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Samsun SK's goalkeeper Nizam Yumus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Beşir Seyhan. Beşir Seyhan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nizam Yumus having to make a save. After having played for 22 minutes, Beşir Seyhan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ataköy FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Beşir Seyhan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cengiz Bergin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the match, Cengiz Bergin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nizam Yumus, 1-0. Beşir Seyhan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Nizam Yumus made a huge save. Samsun SK's Nizam Yumus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cengiz Bergin in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sermet Uruk in the 40th minute of play forced Ataköy FK's goalkeeper Bekir Canay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ataköy FK's zone, Rahman Alişan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bekir Canay came out of the goal and Rahman Alişan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sermet Uruk blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bekir Canay having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Cengiz Bergin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ataköy FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Cengiz Bergin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nizam Yumus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beşir Seyhan in the 54th minute of play forced Samsun SK's goalkeeper Nizam Yumus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bekir Canay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sermet Uruk, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. 69 minutes into the game, Samsun SK's Ramiz İklim nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bekir Canay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 73rd minute, Beşir Seyhan made a precise shot to the right of Nizam Yumus. Samsun SK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 80 minutes into the match, Ataköy FK's goal looked a bit too open when Sermet Uruk came free, but Bekir Canay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute of the game, Rahman Alişan landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Ataköy FK's Levent Erkılınç got his second yellow card of the match in the 82nd minute. The referee ordered Levent Erkılınç off the ground. After 87 minutes, Haşmet Evliya mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Samsun SK and the Ataköy FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Ataköy FK booed when Samsun SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haşmet Evliya didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ramiz İklim came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Samsun SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramiz İklim couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ataköy FK's zone, Ramiz İklim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bekir Canay came out of the goal and Ramiz İklim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Samsun SK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Ataköy FK.
