The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Şahap Hatırlı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 5 minutes, Aytek Niğdeli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galata and the Kekova JK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 5th minute, Aytek Niğdeli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pars Uzhan charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pars Uzhan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th minute, Ömer Bican hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gencer Sağıt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Hüsnü Bakırcı tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sacit Özalp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Arif Egemen Alişan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kekova JK's supporters rose to their feet, but Arif Egemen Alişan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ogün Taçkın breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 20 minutes, Arif Egemen Alişan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kekova JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arif Egemen Alişan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute Sacit Özalp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hüsnü Bakırcı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arif Egemen Alişan in the 28th minute of play forced Galata's goalkeeper Ogün Taçkın to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Şahap Hatırlı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arif Egemen Alişan struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Ogün Taçkın didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kekova JK. Abdurrahim Kadrican kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. A collision led to Kekova JK getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Serhat Okutan hit a great ball. Hüsnü Bakırcı made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sacit Özalp in the 45th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sacit Özalp to make the kick off. Arif Egemen Alişan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Şahap Hatırlı in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ogün Taçkın prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61stth minute of the game Şahap Hatırlı who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galata's Ogün Taçkın was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Galata's Sacit Özalp in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kekova JK's goalie prevented a goal. 64 minutes into the game, Abidin Bintuğ was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kekova JK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galata the free kick. 65 minutes into the match, Kekova JK's goal looked a bit too open when Sacit Özalp came free, but Hüsnü Bakırcı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th minute Gencer Sağıt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hüsnü Bakırcı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Şahap Hatırlı couldn't finish the play. Arif Egemen Alişan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kekova JK's Hüsnü Bakırcı played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sacit Özalp in the 81st minute of play. Ömer Bican kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Hüsnü Bakırcı showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sacit Özalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 90th minute Gencer Sağıt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hüsnü Bakırcı saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Kekova JK's Ahmet Sedat Hiçyılmaz got a free kick in the 90th minute. In the 97th minute, Serhat Okutan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gencer Sağıt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kekova JK were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Galata to leave the ground with a draw.
