Mustafa Numan Toker charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mustafa Numan Toker the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 29th minute Ahmet Çağrı Koyas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Songurhan Temizkal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Songurhan Temizkal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alparslan Cerme's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nihat İzzettin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Songurhan Temizkal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Çağrı Koyas in the 53rd minute of play. Songurhan Temizkal came out of the goal and Alparslan Cerme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alparslan Cerme's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Songurhan Temizkal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Mugla's Bektaş Ali Akatay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nihat İzzettin in the 82nd minute of play. After having played for 85 minutes, Ahmet Çağrı Koyas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mugla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ahmet Çağrı Koyas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Mugla booed when Cay FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Şenol Oncubay didn't get a good kick on the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Mugla's Derviş Aysan broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Ahmet Çağrı Koyas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mugla would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
