After a defensive mix-up in Akkus's zone, Yakup Pekant stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Azmi Özdil came out of the goal and Yakup Pekant tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abdurrahman İlbilge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Songurhan Soysal having to interfere. Balcova's Songurhan Soysal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdurrahman İlbilge in the 66th minute of play. When Hakkı Deniz Tunca fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balcova's protests and gave Hakkı Deniz Tunca a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 75 minutes, Yakup Pekant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
