An unexpectedly hard shot by Mümtazer Erginalp in the 35th minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Cenk Bicanoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Başar Özbilir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Kumlu SK's goalkeeper Artun Dilhun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Başar Özbilir. Aytunç Acaroğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artun Dilhun having to interfere.
