In the 10th minute, Hakkı Onur Ayana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gayrettepe SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 14 minutes into the game, Saltuk Sirer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eyüpspor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gayrettepe SK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Eyüpspor's Saltuk Sirer got a free kick in the 14th minute. Ahmet Çağrı Özkutsal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lefter Uğurlubay, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ahmet İlhan Oğurata got free with Ahmet Çağrı Özkutsal in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd minute, Polat Baydar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ahmet İlhan Oğurata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Orçun Bekdil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gayrettepe SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Orçun Bekdil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Halit Seri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Sebati Nasuh fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gayrettepe SK's protests and gave Sebati Nasuh a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Eyüpspor booed when Gayrettepe SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebati Nasuh didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ahmet İlhan Oğurata took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ahmet Çağrı Özkutsal. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Derya Yanaç to make the kick off. İsmet Uzgoren might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmet Çağrı Özkutsal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ahmet Çağrı Özkutsal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İsmet Uzgoren in the 82nd minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, Derya Yanaç recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Halit Seri. Derya Yanaç showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Hakkı Onur Ayana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gayrettepe SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Hakkı Onur Ayana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 93 played minutes Eyüpspor got a freekick which was hit by Lefter Uğurlubay. In the 97th match minute, Gayrettepe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cevdet Uğursan to maneuver through the defense. 98 minutes into the match, Gayrettepe SK's goal looked a bit too open when İsmet Uzgoren came free, but Ahmet Çağrı Özkutsal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
