In the 11th match minute, Samsunspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Volkan Filiz to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kerimhan Yesar in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ediz Tanacan saved Yalova JK from getting behind. Onur Ali Ağyar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kürşat Ayana's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. Harun Başeski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Kadir Ersoy put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Samsunspor:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Yalova JK:s goal. The goalkeeper, Onur Ali Ağyar, was totally fooled by Yalova JK's Okanay Boyraz, who 49 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
