A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 23 minutes into the match, Mamak's Çağdaş Kutsoy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Abayhan Cesimi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Çağdaş Kutsoy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abayhan Cesimi having to interfere. Göztepe's Abayhan Cesimi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ali Faruk İpek in the 27th minute of play. Abayhan Cesimi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Faruk İpek in the 29th minute of play. After having played for 31 minutes, Güngör Tanak managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Göztepe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Güngör Tanak was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hulki Kulan helped the player get up and apologised. Hulki Kulan kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 37thth minute of the game Güngör Tanak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mamak's Fethi Şahbey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fethi Şahbey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Güngör Tanak, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. If Ali Faruk İpek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Göztepe defense, Çağdaş Kutsoy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Abayhan Cesimi. The Göztepe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Abayhan Cesimi should have stopped the shot. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nuralp Baykut fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mamak's protests and gave Nuralp Baykut a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 played minutes Mamak got a freekick which was hit by Nuralp Baykut. After a defensive mix-up in Mamak's zone, Halim Ağcabey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fethi Şahbey came out of the goal and Halim Ağcabey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Güngör Tanak took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fethi Şahbey. Fethi Şahbey dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Güngör Tanak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Göztepe's supporters rose to their feet, but Güngör Tanak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fethi Şahbey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Güngör Tanak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fethi Şahbey having to interfere. In the 89th minute Çağdaş Kutsoy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abayhan Cesimi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ragıp Tarık fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick.
