Mehmet Ediz Benlioğlu was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Baykal Pekinturk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Günyüzü's supporters rose to their feet, but Baykal Pekinturk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mehmet Ediz Benlioğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 20 minutes into the match, Güngören's Doğuş Aktay sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sabahattin Egin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mehmet Ediz Benlioğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hakkı Muammer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Güngören's Gökalp Mengücek got a free kick in the 24th minute. If Doğuş Aktay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of Günyüzü were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Güngören side.
