The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Okan İbrahimoğlu charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Okan İbrahimoğlu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th match minute, GÖZTEPE FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Okan İbrahimoğlu to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Hinis JK booed when GÖZTEPE FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yılmaz Bayrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Birsel Şahsuvaroğlu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sabahattin Koyak. GÖZTEPE FK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Okan İbrahimoğlu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without İzzettin Ballıoğlu having to make a save. Mustafa Haydar Özsel spun around in front of the goal 11 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Hinis JK's goal. After 13 minutes of play, GÖZTEPE FK's Mustafa Haydar Özsel made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. İzzettin Ballıoğlu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 21stth minute of the game Seyfi Afşar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GÖZTEPE FK's Sabahattin Koyak was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Suphi Bircan got free with Sabahattin Koyak in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mehmet Emin Erkılıç hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. GÖZTEPE FK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Seyfi Afşar scored to the left of an out of position Sabahattin Koyak, making the score, 1-1. After 28 minutes, Kahraman Erensoy mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hinis JK and the GÖZTEPE FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mustafa Haydar Özsel struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. İzzettin Ballıoğlu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GÖZTEPE FK. If Mustafa Haydar Özsel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rdth minute of the game Mustafa Haydar Özsel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hinis JK's İzzettin Ballıoğlu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Okan İbrahimoğlu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without İzzettin Ballıoğlu having to make a save. Okan İbrahimoğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Okan İbrahimoğlu got free with İzzettin Ballıoğlu in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of GÖZTEPE FK booed when Hinis JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genco Yaygır didn't get a good kick on the ball. İzzettin Ballıoğlu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Okan İbrahimoğlu in the 65th minute. Okan İbrahimoğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İzzettin Ballıoğlu having to interfere. After 76 played minutes Hinis JK got a freekick which was hit by Genco Yaygır. Sabahattin Koyak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Suphi Bircan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Seyfi Afşar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Suphi Bircan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabahattin Koyak having to interfere. The GÖZTEPE FK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing GÖZTEPE FK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
