After 3 minutes of play, Sakaryaspor's Mehmet Erduran made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sakaryaspor's Özalp Sanak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melih Zağanos in the 21st minute of play. Özalp Sanak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melih Zağanos in the 24th minute of the match. In the 31st minute Ahmet Gökalp Yalazabey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Özalp Sanak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Melih Zağanos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özalp Sanak having to interfere.
